Goalie Carter Vicente and forward Tucker Roberts are two of the latest additions to the French River Rapids of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.

Vicente, who has a 2006 birthdate, was acquired by French River from the Pelham Panthers of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League in a cash exchange. The 6 foot 2, 165 pound puck stopper had a record of 10-11-0 with a .913 save percentage and 3.63 goals against average in the GOJHL with Pelham in ’23-24.

French River head coach and general manager Paul Frustaglio commented on the acquisition of Vicente.

“We hope that (Vicente’s) success in the GOJHL will translate to the NOJHL,” Frustaglio relayed to Hockey News North. “We are pleased with his decision to help us back to the playoffs (in ’24-25.)”

As for the 5 foot 11, 150 pound Roberts, who was a 10th round pick by the Sudbury Wolves at the 2024 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft, Frustaglio noted that the 2008 birth year skater is a “welcome addition to French River.”

Roberts was a productive performer for the Under 16 York Simcoe Express in ’23-24. Regular season and playoff included, Roberts rang up 20 goals, 34 assists, 54 points in 42 games.
