Nickel Caps to Paper Kings
A pair of productive 15-year old forwards from the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League will make their Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League debut tonight as affiliated players for the Espanola Paper Kings.
Hockey News North has confirmed that right winger Anthony Bertrand and centre Coulson Bell will be in the lineup for Espanola tonight when the Paper Kings play a road game against the Soo Thunderbirds.
The 5-foot-6, 155 pound Bertrand has seven goals, three assists, 10 points in 14 games for the U16 Nickel Capitals this season. Meanwhile, the 5-foot-10, 160 pound Bell has five goals, three assists, eight points in 12 games for the U16 Nickel Caps. More impressively, Bell has three goals, two assists, five points in his last three outings.
Tonight’s game will be a homecoming for Bell, who is a Sault Ste. Marie product. Bell headed to Sudbury to play for the U16 Nickel Capitals this season after being cut by his hometown Soo Jr. Greyhounds. Both teams are members of the GNU18HL.
