Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League has partnered with Full Beard Brewing Co. to launch a new beer, Red Light Lager. The reigning NOJHL champion Rock will debut the light beer at the team’s Don Lever-Steve Sullivan Golf Tournament this weekend.

Rock president Ted Gooch told Hockey News North that the Sullivan-Lever charity golf tournament has been in existence for more than 30 years and is a premier event in northeastern Ontario that is often attended by National Hockey League players.

The 70-year old Lever and the 49-year old Sullivan are both former Ontario Hockey League stars who each went on to skate in more than 1,000 NHL games. Lever was a standout OHL forward with the erstwhile Niagara Falls Flyers and Sullivan was just as stellar on the front lines for the Soo Greyhounds. Both are natives of Timmins.

This year marks the first time that the NOJHL Rock has taken control of the Lever-Sullivan Golf Tournament.

“We, the Timmins Rock, are excited and honoured to continue the tradition of the Lever-Sullivan Golf Tournament,” the aforementioned Ted Gooch relayed to Hockey News North. “And we are also excited to partner with our friends at Full Beard Brewing with the launching of its new beer.”
