NOJHL exhibition exercise
The mini pre-season schedule in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League featured four more exhibition games on Saturday and Sunday. Regular season play in the NOJHL is slated to begin this coming weekend.
From Saturday’s exhibition card:
• Jack Tos scored twice as the French River Rapids upended the visiting Espanola Express 5-3.
• Avery Rebek and Cooper Smyl tallied twice apiece and Alex Bugeja made 49 saves as the Soo Thunderbirds scored a 7-4 road decision over the Blind River Beavers.
• Raphael Lajeunesse and Quinton Hill both potted two goals as the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks lit up the Cochrane Crunch by a 7-2 margin.
On Sunday:
• Olivier Cloutier-Faucher notched the lone goal in the shootout as Hearst upended visiting Cochrane by a 6-5 score.
