NOJHL finals set to start
And now there are two left. The best of seven Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League championship series between the two time reigning champion Sudbury Cubs and the Timmins Rock gets underway tonight at 7:00 at Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in the Nickel City.
In the 2026 playoffs, Sudbury has yet to lose with a record of 8-0 while Timmins has an 8-3 mark.
According to files from NOJHL historian David Harrison, the last team to go unbeaten in a single post-season was the 2017 Powassan Voodoos, who ran the table with a perfect 12-0 mark en route to the title.
Head to head. Sudbury and Timmins faced off four times during the regular season with the Cubs taking the overall set with a 2-1-1 record. Sudbury outscored Timmins by a 16-11 margin
