OHL draft pick to Espanola
High scoring forward Kaden Wicklander has signed with the Espanola Paper Kings of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.
The 2008 birth year skater was snagged by the Brantford Bulldogs from the Sudbury U16 Wolves of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League in the 11th round of the 2024 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft. In 44 games with the U16 Wolves, regular season and playoffs included, during the 2023-2024 season, Wicklander rang up 21 goals, 28 assists, 49 points.
The signing of Wicklander looms as a coup for Espanola. And Paper Kings general manager Marc Gagnon likes what Wicklander will bring to Espanola.
“We are excited to see the speed of Wicklander in a Paper Kings uniform,” Gagnon relayed to Hockey News North.
Another great signing by Espanola G.M. Marc Gagnon. Paper Kings will be a force in the NOJHL this season.
