One-day Beaver camp coming up
It’s a start of new beginnings in small-town Blind River, an upcoming, one-day mini camp.
Under the watch of new head coach Kyle Brick, the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have scheduled a one-day mini camp for Saturday, June 11 at Countryside Arena in Sudbury. There will be two sessions — one from 9:15-11:15 a.m. and the other from 2:15-4:15 p.m.
Cost for the camp is $100 per player. Players can register via blindriverbeavers.com.
For more information, call Coach Brick at 705-987-3304 or e-mail him via kyle_brick@hotmail.com.
The 30-year old Brick takes over a Blind River team that missed the playoffs in 2014-2015 and finished 11th overall in the 12-team NOJHL.
Brick, who was an assistant coach the past two seasons for the two-time NOJHL champion Soo Thunderbirds, will head to Blind River with Dylan King as his hand-picked assistant.
The 25-year old King played three Ontario Hockey League seasons as a rugged defenseman with the Soo Greyhounds.
Both Brick and King hail from the nearby town of Thessalon, which is located between Sault Ste. Marie and Blind River along Highway 17.
