One for the Red Wings

All six teams in the West Division of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League are now in the win column. Elliot Lake Red Wings put their first ‘W’ of the season on the board on Tuesday with an 8-4 drubbing of the defending champion Soo Thunderbirds.

Playing at home, Elliot Lake erupted for six first period goals en route to victory. Alex Antoine, Silas Crawford, captain Kaden Laverdiere and defenseman Darcy Scott all had one goal, one assist outings to spark the Red Wings.

Standings in the Wild West of the NOJHL have the Sudbury Cubs in first place with a record of 3-0 followed by Blind River Beavers at 2-0, Espanola Paper Kings and Soo Eagles both with 1-1 marks and the Red Wings and Thunderbirds both at 1-2.
