Nicolas Saucier

They are Owen Ferguson and Nicolas Saucier. Ferguson has a 2004 birth date and Saucier was born in 2005.

Paper Kings general manager Marc Gagnon noted that the 5-foot-6, 160 pound Ferguson “will add speed and offense for us. We are looking forward to seeing him in the line up. We are very happy with this signing.”

Ferguson netted 18 goals, 22 assists, 40 points in 27 games, playoffs included, for the North Kawartha Knights of the Provincial Jr. C Hockey League during the 2022-2023 season. He previously skated in 53 games for the NOJHL’s Powassan Voodoos and had 25 points.

As for the 5-foot-9, 145 pound Saucier, he scored 15 goals, 11 assists, 26 points in 30 games for the Kapuskasing Flyers of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League in ’22-23.

“We are happy to sign a player from the north especially from the Great North league,” Gagnon relayed to Hockey News North. “Nicolas had a great (spring tryout) camp with us at our first-ever northern camp. Nic will bring speed and a scoring touch.

“(Head coach) Jason (Rapcewicz) and I feel we have brought in more speed to the line up and we will continue to build as competitive a roster as possible for the coming season,” Gagnon summed up.
