Elijah Pool is headed east from the Dryden Ice Dogs of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League to the reigning Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League champion Timmins Rock in a cash transaction.

Elijah Pool

Hailing from St. Albert, Alberta, Pool is a 2004 birth year defenseman who had eight assists in 41 games — regular season and playoffs included — of spot duty for Dryden in 2022-2023. He is a younger brother of graduated forward Ethan Pool, who was part of the ’22-23 NOJHL championship team in Timmins as a clutch goal scorer. The older Pool had joined Timmins from the Red Lake Miners of the SIJHL in an off season trade from a year ago.

As for the younger Pool, Timmins head coach and general manager Brandon Perry likes what the 6-foot, 190 pound, right hand shooting defender brings to the Rock.

“We are excited to have Elijah join the Rock,” Perry relayed to Hockey News North. “He comes from a good family and having good people in our locker room is what makes the difference.”
