Powassan Voodoos of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have signed three players who skated in the North American 3 Eastern Hockey League last season.

The newly-signed trio includes forwards Nicholas Siracuse and Travis Valvo and defenceman Christian Whitcomb.

Siracuse and Whitcomb both played for the Lockport Express last season while Valvo suited up for the Jersey Shore Wildcats.

Siracuse and Valvo both showed a scoring touch over 41 games last season. Siracuse was a 25-goal scorer while Valvo lit the lamp 23 times.

Whitcomb, from his defensive spot, put up 23 points in 41 games last season.

Interestingly, all three American-born players hail from the Buffalo area.

“These three players bring more junior experience to our roster,” said Powassan general manager Chris Dawson, who along with Voodoos part owner Graeme Bruce, met up with Whitcomb and Siracuse at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto for the signing.

“Whitcomb, brings a unique element to our back end that we didn’t have last season, while Siracuse and Valvo bring some experience and more scoring. They all attended our July camp and all of them impressed our coaching staff,” added Dawson.
