Tonight’s scheduled Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League game between the visiting Rayside-Balfour Canadians and the Soo Thunderbirds has been postponed.

The postponement is the result of Rayside-Balfour not having enough players to ice a full roster for the game because of injuries and the fact that none of the Canadians affiliate players are available due to high school exams that are taking place.

“The decision to postpone the game was based on the importance that the NOJHL places on both player safety and education,” noted NOJHL commissioner Robert Mazzuca.

“Both teams are impacted, with a number of players on the Thunderbirds also in the midst of studying for their exams, while adding in the time and distance involved for Rayside-Balfour to travel to the Soo and back, it was decided to re-schedule the game in the best interests of everyone involved,” added Mazzuca.
