Return of the Paper King
Star forward Lucas Signoretti has committed to return to the Espanola Paper Kings of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League for the 2023-2024 season.
Despite playing in only 40 of Espanola’s 58 regular season games in 2022-2023, Signoretti led the Paper Kings in scoring by a wide margin, lighting it up for 39 goals, 40 assists, 79 points. The 5-foot-6, 168 pound Signoretti, who has a 2004 birth date, then added three goals, four assists, seven points in five playoff outings.
The Paper Kings are coming off of a ’22-23 season in which they finished a strong fourth in the NOJHL’s West Division with 63 points from a record of 29-24-5. Espanola then lost in the first round of the West Division playoffs to the first-place Sudbury Cubs.
