Rock on the clock
Reigning champion Timmins Rock will officially begin defense of its Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League crown when 2023-2024 regular season play begins this week.
Timmins takes to the road for games on Friday and Saturday. The Rock is at the Sudbury Cubs on Friday night then faces the re-named Elliot Lake Vikings on Saturday evening.
The Rock finished first overall among the NOJHL’s 12 teams over the course of the 2022-2023 regular season. Timmins then spotted the defending champion Soo Thunderbirds a 2-1 lead in the league championship series before winning the next three games to take the best-of-seven final.
