School is in for Mulligan
Workhorse defenseman Ryan Mulligan has parlayed a strong season with the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League into a National Collegiate Athletic Association commitment.
A Sault Ste. Marie product with a 1998 birth date, Mulligan will head to Ashland, Wisconsin in the fall to play for the Northland College Lumberjacks. Northland is a Division 3, NCAA school.
Regular season and playoffs included, Mulligan played in 61 games for Blind River during the 2018-2019 campaign and totaled 13 goals, 32 assists, 45 points.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound, right-handed shooting defender played four full seasons in the NOJHL. Mulligan skated for the Soo Thunderbirds for two seasons and part of a third before requesting — and receiving — a trade to Blind River during the 2017-2018 term.
