A half dozen projected members of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League’s Sudbury Cubs are at training camp sites of a number of Ontario Hockey League teams this week.

Leading the way are two potential returning forwards — Billy Biedermann and Cameron Shanks. Biedermann is at the Barrie Colts camp while Shanks has an invite to the London Knights camp.

The other four were signed by the Cubs during the off season as rookies — forwards Marshall McCharles and Nolan Newton, defenseman Matthew Mazzotta and goalie Nathaniel Boyes. McCharles is at the Sudbury Wolves camp, Newton and Mazzotta are in Barrie and Boyes is at the Ottawa 67’s camp.

Coached by Darryl Moxam and Dave Clancy, the NOJHL Cubs will open the regular season on Thursday, September 8 with a 7:00 p.m. home match against the Powassan Voodoos at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Arena.
