Soo Eagles and college
Since the current regime of the Soo Eagles led by general manager Bruno Bragagnolo took ownership back in 2010, the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League program has sent more than 100 players to the college ranks. And that impressive list continues to grow.

Bragagnolo and the Eagles have confirmed that 2004 birth year defenseman Gabe Fisher has committed to the University of Southern New Hampshire, which is a Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association school.
A 6 foot 1, 190 pound defenseman, Fisher appeared in 86 games for the Eagles, regular season and playoffs included, over a two year span and produced 16 goals, 48 assists, 64 points.
In announcing Fisher’s commitment to Southern New Hampshire, Bragagnolo relayed to Hockey News North that “the Soo Eagles are very happy and proud for Gabe as he has worked extremely hard, on the ice, off the ice and in the community of Sault Ste. Marie. With his strong work ethic and energy on the ice we are looking forward to watching his progress. We wish Gabe the best of luck in his college career at Southern New Hampshire.”
The University of New Hampshire Penmen compete in the six member Northeast 10 Conference.
