Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have signed homegrown forward Chris Skinner, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

A 1996 birth-year skater who hails from the Michigan Soo area, Skinner scored 11 goals in 30 games for the erstwhile Batchewana Attack of the now-dormant Canadian International Hockey League in 2014-2015.

Skinner becomes the third Twin Soo product to sign with the Eagles.

Earlier, 1998 birth-year forward Landon Hubbard of the Michigan Soo and Canadian-born, 1997 birth-year pivot Jake Palmerio signed up with the Eagles.

“It’s going to be great to be playing at Pullar Stadium again after playing there my whole high school hockey career,” Skinner told HockeyNewsNorth.com. “I grew up playing in the Pullar, the first game I ever played was at the Pullar. It will feel great playing in front of friends and family.”

Eagles coach-general manager Bruno Bragagnolo referred to Skinner as “a player with good all-around skills with junior experience. It’s always good to be able to sign a good local player.”
