Sudbury Cubs of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have closed out a noteworthy season by acknowledging their individual player awards for the 2022-2023 campaign.

A record-setting campaign for the Cubs included a first-place finish in the NOJHL’s West Division that featured a franchise record 94 points from a record of 46-10-2.

After winning the first round of the playoffs over the Espanola Paper Kings in five games, the young, local look Cubs met up with the veteran-laden, defending NOJHL champion Soo Thunderbirds, who won all three games played on Sudbury’s ice while splitting two games played in the Soo.

A true northern team, the Cubs 24 player roster included 12 players from Greater Sudbury and four others from northern Ontario towns, including two from Little Current and one from each of North Bay and Sudbury.
