T-Birds add rugged defender
Reigning Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League champion Soo Thunderbirds have added free-agent defenceman Joe Newhouse via the Thunder Bay North Stars of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League.
The rugged, 6-foot-1, 210-pound, 1997 birth-year defender had 5 goals, 20 assists, 25 points and 71 penalty minutes in 56 games with Thunder Bay during the 2014-2015 season.
