T-Birds force Game 7
It was thought by many of those close to the scene that this would go the distance. And it will. Soo Thunderbirds and Soo Eagles will play a seventh-and-deciding game in their Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League playoff series.
Rookie defenseman Rob Calisti’s goal in the waning seconds of the second period stood up as the game-winner as the Thunderbirds edged the Eagles 2-1 tonight before a Pullar Stadium crowd of about 825 onlookers in the Michigan Soo.
Game 7 is slated for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at John Rhodes Community Centre with the T-Birds holding home-ice advantage.
My prediction T-Birds 2 Eagles 1 in quadruple overtime!
