T-Birds sign bluechip blueliner
The reigning Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and Dudley-Hewitt Cup champion Soo Thunderbirds have signed 1998 birth-year defenceman Matt Murray.
A 5-foot-11, 175 pounder, Murray was a standout with the Great North Midget Hockey League champion Soo Thunderbirds in 2014-2015.
In 41 games, regular season and playoffs included, Murray talled 11 goals, 25 assists, 36 points for coach Jim Capy’s T-Bird midgets.
