Brandon Gordon, a 1997 birth-year goalie from the Michigan Soo, is crossing the St. Mary’s River to play for the reigning Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League champion Soo Thunderbirds.

Gordon has spent the past two seasons tending twine for the major midget Soo Indians of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association.

With the Indians in 2014-2015, Gordon had a record of 19-10-2 to go with a 2.10 goals against average and .910 save percentage.

“Brandon is a player who has a lot of upside and fits the mold of what we are looking for in a Soo Thunderbird,” said T-Birds general manager Jamie Henderson. “He is a real character young man who is willing to work hard to earn the trust of the coaches and his teammates.”
