Soo Thunderbirds will take a two games to none cushion across the border when their best of seven playoff series resumes with the Soo Eagles on Friday night.

Regular season champions in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, the Thunderbirds are on a 24 game winning streak, playoffs included.

The latest win was a 4-3 overtime decision over the visiting Eagles that gave the Thunderbirds a 2-0 lead in the West Division finals. Cooper Foster’s second goal of the game, 14:42 into overtime, lifted the T-Birds into the 2-0 series lead.

The T-Birds rode the stellar 31-save effort of Noah Zeppa to take the series opener by a 3-1 margin.

Games 3 and 4 are slated for Friday and Saturday evenings at Pullar Stadium in the Michigan Soo.
