Powassan Voodoos of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have stayed in their neighbourhood and signed high scoring forward Will Bourre from the North Bay Trappers of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League.

Bourre, who has a 2004 birth date, netted 18 goals, seven assists, 25 points in 23 regular season games with the U18 AAA Trappers in 2021-2022. He also suited up for four NOJHL games with Powassan and potted two goals, one assist, three points.

“The reason why I chose to play for the Voodoos is because I played as an AP in Powassan last season and straight away I could see that it’s a great organization and a great opportunity to improve as a player,” relayed the 6 foot, 180 pound right winger. “Being local, and being able to play for a great junior A team has been my goal for a while now.”

Voodoos head coach Marc Lafleur was impressed with what he saw of Bourre last season.

“We are extremely happy to have one of the north’s most dangerous players join our organization,” said Lafleur. “He will bring offense to the lineup.”
