Twin Soo teams take OT tilts
Soo Thunderbirds and Soo Eagles both worked overtime to post Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League wins on Saturday night.
Matt Caruso’s second goal of the game gave the West Division-leading Thunderbirds a 3-2 verdict over the visiting Powassan Voodoos.
The Birds had forced OT on a goal by 1999 birth-year rookie Mark Tassone with less than two minutes to play in the third period.
Playing on the road, the Eagles also came from behind to upend the Blind River Beavers 3-2 in OT on a goal by Evan Ketner.
A goal by Nate Harris of the Eagles midway through the third period had tied the game 2-2 and set the stage for Ketner’s OT tally.
I want to say that the Soo Eagles have been a major dissapointment this Season.
Coach ‘s needs to get there head outta there ass. There is no flow to this team what so ever IMO.
I’m sure he is a good guy, but just take a look at Jim Capys record at the Jr A level
Lets see now…..Coach Bruno has won a Championship with the Eagles in the year 2011 and I beleive that Jimmy Capy won a Championship with the old Soo Indians back in ’07. What is this bull shit with blaming the Eagles Coaches now? you can’t be sirious you gys.
For what it is worth I would like it if the Eskis hired Jim Capy as our Head Coach.
Eagles Fans all the same bitching all the time. Most of them dumb fans who dont no much about hockey. I luv watching games over at the Puller but the fans have no clue; dumb, dumber and dumbest that I have ever met at any Junior game. Real morrons most of them.
T-Bird Supporter….we have crossed the river a few times (both this year and last) this year to watch T-Birds and Cochrane play the Eagles; every time we had a great experience at the Pullar. Frankly much more enjoyable then watching the T-Birds at John Rhodes or Essar. The Soo MI have some great friendly fans, and I bet if you sit on the west side of the rink behind the Soo Eagles goalie you will be among some knowledgeable Soo Eagle fans and NOJHL supporters.
