Twin Soo tilt for the Birds
Soo Thunderbirds scored three first period goals en route to a 5-1 decision over their cross-river rival Soo Eagles in Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League action from this afternoon.
Playing at home in front of a crowd of less than 150 at John Rhodes Community Centre on the Ontario side of the St. Mary’s River, the Thunderbirds won their fifth straight game to improve their league-best record to 19-5-0.
Nick Smith, Camden Findlay, Lucas Theriault, Gage Stephney and Ryan Lawrence tallied once apiece for the T-Birds while Charley Hanewall replied for the Eagles, whose record dropped to 11-16-0.
