Powassan Voodoos and Iroquois Falls Eskis have completed a Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League trade, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

In the deal, Powassan gets defenceman Nicky Grose from Iroquois Falls for forwards Garry Mindus and Jacob Erwin.

Grose had 37 points in 54 games during the 2014-2015 season while Erwin was a 16-goal scorer.

Powassan general manager Chris Dawson provided his take on the transaction.

“With Nicky on the (Mattawa) Blackhawks last season, we saw a lot of him, along with the fact that he was with me on the (North Bay) Trappers during the 2013-14 season,” Dawson told HockeyNewsNorth.com.

“We have all seen him develop into a solid, smart, puck-moving defenceman. He is a late bloomer and we believe his experience will be a perfect fit on the Voodoos back end,” added Dawson.

All three players have 1995 birth dates.
