For the first time in the 2022 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League playoff season there will be a seventh and deciding game to finish a series.

Timmins Rock stared elimination straight in the kisser on Wednesday night and pulled out a clutch 3-1 road decision over the Hearst Lumberjacks to force a Game 7. The winner-take-all East Division final match will be played on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at McIntyre Arena in Timmins.

While both teams have played to big home crowds in every game of the series, it has not been an advantage thus far. Both Timmins and Hearst have won two of three games in the other team’s rink.

The winner of the Timmins-Hearst series will face the West Division champion Soo Thunderbirds for the NOJHL title.
