Elliot Lake Red Wings have finally settled on a head coach one game into the 2021-2022 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League season.

The rebranded Red Wings, formerly known as the Wildcats, have named 26-year old Tanner Bowditch as the their new head coach.

Elliot Lake, which is back in the NOJHL after a one year absence, initially hired Brian Noad to be the first ever coach of the Red Wings. But Noad suddenly stepped down just prior to the start of the current season without ever having coached a game.

Jon Campbell was then listed as the new head coach of the Red Wings only to never appear behind the bench either.

Enter Bowditch, who has prior assistant coaching experience in the NOJHL with the Cochrane Crunch and in the Central Canada Hockey League with the Renfrew Wolves.

Adam Lamarre is the Red Wings associate coach who will work alongside Bowditch.
