Defenseman Jordan Ernst is bolting the Bowling Green Falcons of the Division 1, Western Collegiate Hockey Association for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

The big 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman with a 1997 birth date joined Bowling Green for the second half of the 2015-2016 campaign after beginning the season with the Madison Capitals of the United States Hockey League.

A product of the Chicago Mission program, Ernst was a first-round pick to the USHL and played in 16 games with Madison before heading to Bowling Green where he completed the ’15-16 season by playing in 15 contests at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level.

Sarnia general manager Nick Sinclair confirmed the addition of Ernst from Bowling Green.

“Jordan is a quality young man who will add strength and depth to our blue-line,” noted Sinclair. “Given his on-ice capabilities and experience we believe that he will be a solid contributor to our group.”
