Connor Toms to Carleton
Former Soo Greyhounds and Windsor Spitfires defenseman Connor Toms is utilizing his Ontario Hockey League education package to begin his university schooling and playing career this fall.
Hockey News North has confirmed that the 2004 birth year defender is headed to the Carleton Ravens of Ontario University Athletics. Carleton is one of nine schools in the OUA East Division.
Toms was traded by his hometown Greyhounds to the Spitfires part way through the 2023-2024 OHL season and in total, had seven assists in 61 games.
In all, Toms played three full seasons in the OHL and playoffs included, he skated in 169 games and netted six goals, 26 assists, 32 points.
The likeable lad is the son of former high scoring Greyhound forward — and 1993 Memorial Cup champion — Jeff Toms. The elder Toms went on to skate in 237 National Hockey League games before playing a productive eight seasons overseas at the Swiss A level.
