Erik Muxlow is a Hound
Free agent forward Erik Muxlow has signed with the Soo Greyhounds after being initially bypassed at the 2023 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.
Greyhound general manager Kyle Raftis noted that Muxlow has shown notable progression since a major injury from the ’22-23 season.
“After sustaining an injury in his initial OHL draft year, where he was projected to be a draft pick, it was impressive to see Erik rebound and have an exceptional (’23-24 season) with (Detroit) Compuware,” Raftis began. “Having Erik participate in both the our development camp and our most recent camp was a good fit on both sides … it gave us a glimpse of the work he put in over the summer.
“We are eager to welcome Erik to our forward group and to begin working with our staff as he acclimates to the OHL and continues to take steps in his game,” Raftis concluded.
Hailing from the Windsor, Ontario suburb of Tecumseh, the 2007 birth year forward is coming off of a solid ’23-24 season with the Detroit Compuware AAA program where he skated in 62 games and totalled 27 goals, 31 assists, 58 points.
Muxlow said he is “honoured to have signed with such a great and historic organization as the Soo Greyhounds.”
