Firebirds re-up assistants
Much valued assistant coaches Reijo Ruotsalainen and Saverio Posa will return to the coaching staff of the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League for the 2024-2025 season.
Meanwhile, the Firebirds have hired Scott MacDonald as their video coach. Which all sits well with Flint head coach Paul Flache.
“I feel very fortunate to have been able to work with Reijo and Saverio last season and am excited to continue to build and grow together,” relayed Flache. “Adding Scott to the group provides another great resource for the staff and, more importantly, the players, to continue pushing their development.”
Flint finished in eighth place in the Western Conference during the 2023-2024 OHL regular season before giving the eventual champion London Knights a tough go in the first round of the playoffs.
