Gotta love the $2 beers

If I didn’t reside 300 miles from Flint I would be watching the Firebirds play host to the London Knights tonight and firing back a few $2 beers.

Keep the $2 hot dogs for the next fan and give me another $2 beer instead.

Tonight marks the fourth in a series of five nights in which the Firebirds are featuring $2 beers and $2 hot dogs.

Puck drop for tonight’s Ontario Hockey League game between the Firebirds and the reigning Memorial Cup champions from London is set for 7 p.m. at the Dort Federal Event Center.

Winners of three straight games, Flint has a four-point lead on the Saginaw Spirit for the eighth-and-final playoff spot in the Western Conference. London, meanwhile, is in second place overall in the OHL, trailing only the league-leading Erie Otters.

As Flint is home to London tonight, mid-Michigan rival Saginaw is at the Soo to play the Greyhounds.

What you think about “Gotta love the $2 beers”

  1. If you were here for tonites game Randy I would buy you a few 2 buck Beers for all of your great Article’s!

  2. If only the Ottawa 67’s would do that again. In 2005, it cost $2 for hotdogs and the price went up to $2.75. I think they are $3.50 now. They also need to put in more of an effort to win back fans. Friday night games are something of the past, and have been moved to weekend afternoons to bring in more families. A march break game during the weekday was moved to the afternoon, instead of the evening. Hopefully the 67’s will learn something from Flint’s marketing ideas.
