Hayes named Hounds captain
Soo Greyhounds have confirmed their leadership group of one captain and four assistants for the ’26-27 Ontario Hockey League season. Fourth year forward Travis Hayes — a National Hockey League draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins — holds the honour of being named captain of the Hounds.
A Metro Detroit product with a 2007 birth date, Hayes has 127 points in 188 regular season games to date as a member of the Hounds. A client of player agent Eddie Mio of Octane Sports, Hayes has an additional seven points in 24 playoff games for the Hounds.
Assistant captains for the Hounds are defensemen Spencer Evans and Callum Croskery and forwards Quinn McKenzie and Jordan Charron.
