Greyhound goalies are C-minus
Drew Bannister, the first-year head coach of the Soo Greyhounds, is known as a positive person — albeit one who does not mince words.
And Bannister, appearing on the Hockey North Show, which airs on Tuesdays from 5-6 p.m. on Sault Ste. Marie radio station ESPN 1400, did not hesitate when asked to rate the performance of his two goalies — Brandon Halverson and Joseph Raymaakers — 25 games into the 2015-2016 Ontario Hockey League season.
“If I were to rate them, based on a grade of A, B or C, it would be C-minus,” Bannister said evenly. “I have no issue with their work ethic or compete level but we have to get better goal-tending from both of them. We have seen some improvement but they need to become more consistent.”
In 16 games thus far this season, the 19-year old Halverson has a 3.54 goals against average and .885 save percentage.
And in the 10 games he has appeared in, the 17-year Raaymakers has a 3.67 goals against average and .887 save percentage.
Heading into a three-game home-stand which begins tonight with a match against the Sudbury Wolves, the Hounds have lost four straight games and now have a record of 9-13-3. The Hounds are in eighth place in the Western Conference.

I wonder what grades he would give to defensemen Bouramman (-14), White (-11) and Hore (-11).
I like the candor that Drew has shown with his remark’s.!! Both of our goalies need to play MUCH BETTER in my opinien. way to tell it like it is Coach!
