Hounds goalie gets national nod

Soo Greyhounds backup goalie Brandon Halverson has received some national recognition.

The 1996 birth-year rookie has been named Canadian Hockey League goaltender-of-the-week.

The American-born Halverson kicked out 68 shots in two Greyhound wins last week, including his second shutout of the Ontario Hockey League season.

For the 2013-2014 season, Halverson has a record of 11-6-0 to go with a 2.79 goals against average and .905 save percentage.
