It has been stated that if a team aspires to be the best then it has to beat the best. That utterance certainly has basis relevant to the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.

Consider how the third seed Hounds have fared against the other top three clubs in the 10-team Western Conference of the OHL.

Overall, the Greyhounds have won 10 of 14 games thus far against the first place London Knights, the second seed Saginaw Spirit and the fourth ranked Kitchener Rangers. The Hounds have taken all three matches from London, have won four of seven games against Saginaw and have upended Kitchener in three of their four meetings.

The Greyhounds have one more game remaining against the Knights in London and conclude the regular season on March 24 with a home match against Saginaw. The Hounds and Kitchener will not meet again in the regular season. Interestingly, in the seven games between the Hounds and Saginaw thus far, the home team has yet to score a victory.

Notably, as the Hounds have won a combined six of their seven games versus London and Kitchener, Charlie Schenkel has been the goalie of record for the Soo in each and every match.
