Hounds make a pair of trades
Soo Greyhounds made a pair of moves at today’s Ontario Hockey League trade deadline, bringing home local product Frankie Pucci and dealing veteran Keigan Goetz.
The Hounds gave up a 10th-round pick in 2017 to the Erie Otters to get the small-but-speedy Pucci, a 1997 birth-year forward who has spent most of the past two seasons in the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League.
Currently, Pucci leads the Niagara Falls Canucks of the GOJHL in scoring with 16 goals, 29 assists, 45 points in only 26 games played this season.
Pucci is formerly of the Soo Thunder minor midgets and the Soo Indians major midgets and was Erie’s 12th-round pick at the 2013 OHL draft.
The Hounds then dealt 1996 birth-year forward Keigan Goetz to the Barrie Colts for a sixth-round pick in 2016 and a second-round pick in 2021.
