Hounds pound all around

Might as well state the obvious here — Guelph Storm is no match for the Soo Greyhounds.

The Hounds fashioned another overwhelming outing on Thursday, overpowering the Storm in a 9-3 throttling that was over after two periods. (In fact, I left after the second period and came home.)

With a two-games-to-none lead in the best-of-seven, second-round, Ontario Hockey League playoff set, the Hounds now head to Guelph looking to put the Storm on ice for the season.

Not to get giddy or gushy but this Soo squad is as slick and skilled and all-around as awesome an outfit that has skated in the OHL in some time.

Watching one line after the other take to the ice is like watching a re-run of a highlight tape over and over again.

I said on radio before the series started that the Hounds would win in four straight and I wasn’t being bold.

After out-scoring the Saginaw Spirit 22-5 to sweep that opening-round set in four straight, the Soo is now up 2-0 on Guelph and has netted 16 goals in the two victories.

Does Guelph have a chance to come back and take the series?

Of course.

Just as there is a chance that I go into a bar and order a bottle of water instead of a beer.

What you think about “Hounds pound all around”

  1. Randy, this is General Custer down in Guelph calling up to Sitting Bull in the Sault asking for the throngs of attackers to lay off enough for the Storm to win at least one game. Now if this was last year’s Storm team, this would go seven.
