He now has ties to the Ontario Hockey League as a new minority owner and advisor of the Saginaw Spirit while continuing his duties as senior vice president for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League.

And 73-year old Jimmy Devellano performed official duties for Saginaw on Saturday when he dropped the ceremonial first puck prior to the OHL match between the Spirit and the visiting Ottawa 67’s.

In all, the venerable Devellano has seven Stanley Cup championship rings — three from his days with the New York Islanders and four while in the employ of the Red Wings.
