A goal by Ryan Kujawinski early in the second overtime period lifted the North Bay Battalion to a 4-3 win over the Barrie Colts and a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven, Ontario Hockey League, Eastern Conference playoff series.
More than 4,100 rowdy fans took in Thursday’s match at Memorial Gardens in North Bay.
The Battalion can win the series on Saturday with Game 5 slated for Barrie.
Thursday’s game-winning goal by Kujawinski was the fifth of the playoffs for the 20-year old native of Iroquois Falls, who was acquired by the Battalion from the Kingston Frontenacs in a mid-season OHL trade.
North Bay dominated Thursday’s game, out-shooting Barrie by a resounding 49-19 margin.
Sault Ste. Marie native Mike Amadio scored one of North Bay’s goals, his fifth of the playoffs.
