New associate in Flint
Fifteen years after graduating from the Ontario Hockey League as a player, Paul Flache is returning to it as associate coach of the Flint Firebirds.
Flache takes over from Eric Wellwood, who has departed the Firebirds to pursue a career outside hockey.
The 35-year old Flache has coaching and player development experience from more than a decade of operating elite training facilities and coaching within the Michigan-based TPH Thunder organization.
A rugged defenseman during his playing days, Flache spent three seasons in the OHL with the Brampton (now North Bay) Battalion before a 10-year minor pro career that extended to Germany.
