New to OHL 70 goal club
Nick Lardis of the Brantford Bulldogs has become the first Ontario Hockey League player to score 70 goals in a season since John Tavares — now of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League — did so back in the 2006-2007 campaign as a member of the Oshawa Generals.

An NHL draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, Lardis is just the eighth player in OHL history to score 70 or more goals in a season.
Interestingly, three of the eight players did so while playing for the Soo Greyhounds. Wayne Gretzky was the first with 70 goals in 1977-1978, Brian Gualazzi topped that with 75 in ’78-79 and Steve Gatzos set the Greyhound franchise record when he tallied 78 times in ’80-81.
