Barrie Colts will make centre Ryan Suzuki the first overall pick at Saturday’s Ontario Hockey League minor midget draft.
The Colts made the announcement at a press conference in Barrie this morning.
Playing for the London Jr. Knights, the 6-foot, 160-pound Suzuki was named the Alliance league minor midget player-of-the-year after potting 19 goals, 40 assists, 59 points in 32 regular-season games.
He is the younger brother of Owen Sound Attack forward Nick Suzuki, who is a top prospect for this year’s National Hockey League draft.
