Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League have signed former Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League goalie Mackenzie Savard to a standard player agreement.

With Wolves starting goalie Zack Bowman sidelined due to injury, Savard will serve as a backup to fellow OHL rookie Jake McGrath.

Savard, who has a 1997 birth date, formerly played in the NOJHL with the Rayside-Balfour Canadians.

“We’re very pleased to be adding to our goaltending depth with an excellent young man like Mackenzie,” said Wolves general manager Barclay Branch.
