On to the OHL finals
There will be two Ontario Hockey League teams that will compete at the 2024 Memorial Cup championship tournament later this month in Saginaw, Michigan. One will be the host Saginaw Spirit. The other will be either the London Knights or Oshawa Generals.
London and Oshawa will meet in a best of seven series to determine the OHL champion. The Knights ousted Saginaw in six games in the Western Conference finals while the Generals needed to win Game 7 to upend the North Bay Battalion for the Eastern Conference crown.
London finished atop the OHL’s regular season overall standings with 104 points. By comparison, Oshawa had 89 points to top the Eastern Conference. Oshawa’s points total was less than three Western Conference teams — London with 104, Saginaw with 102 and the Soo Greyhounds with 95.
