Flint Firebirds rookie goalie Kyle Keyser has won the Ontario Hockey League’s Ivan Tennant Memorial Award as the top academic high school student for the 2015-2016 season.

Keyser, who has a 1999 birth date, achieved a 95 per cent average during the 2015-2016 academic year with a full six-course workload at Grand Blanc High School where he studied American Government, American Literature, Business, Chemistry, Economics, and Life Skills.

Selected by Flint in the fourth round of the 2015 OHL draft, Keyser played in 17 games for the Firebirds during the ’15-16 campaign.
