Another defender in Ottawa
Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League have added yet-another young defenceman with the first-round selection of Russian defender Andrei Golikov at today’s Canadian Hockey League import draft.
“We like what we’ve seen from Andrei,” said 67’s coach-general manager Jeff Brown. “He’ll be a solid three-year player for us. He compliments the assets we already have in place on defence.”
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Golikov, who has a 1999 birth date, is the fourth defenceman that the 67’s have recently added after signing 2016 draft picks Peter Stratis, Carter Robertson and Kevin Bahl to OHL contracts.
